Right to travel basic to life, human society

The right to travel is a God-given right no different from the right to keep and bear arms for self-defense.

By Christopher Sapp / Midstate Bureau Chief 96.9 FM

To suggest that people cannot freely travel in motorized automobiles without license and regulation from the state is akin to suggesting that modern people could not own anything more than a black powder musket without the license and regulation of the state.

Rights do not flow from the state.

Permissions do.

Our rights and liberties flow from our Creator and are therefore eternal regardless of how times change or the changes in technology that accompany the passage of time. The constitution simply recognizes and acknowledges these self-evident God-given rights and it places limitations and restrictions on government and state actors to secure those rights and liberties.

Judges and other government actors are regulated and bound by the limitations and restrictions imposed by the Constitution — not the People.

These timeless documents recognize and secure such eternally granted rights and liberties to the people. They are not anchors in time to chain and enslave the people.

Such documents herald the birth of nation rather than its death. They are not to be regarded as headstones or grave markers that bind the rights and liberties of the citizenry to the technological advances available at the time of their passage and adoption.

If a man has a right to clothe himself, it is absurd to believe that such a right would be restricted to the diapers he wore on the day of his birth.
