‘With the intent to destroy such child’ — hundreds in Hamilton County slain

Debbie Hensley, 57, tells the Tennessean about how she still cries after a 1979 abortion.

Three hundred boys and girls in Hamilton County were slain in utero in various clinics that file reports to state government, according to the state’s department of health. While 300 babies were slain, women in Tennessee gave birth to 4,102 boys and girls. By ratio, that’s one baby in pieces in a bloody body parts bucket vs. 73 tenderly cared for in the post-partum nursery with its staff hovering over rows of warmly lit bassinets.

The figure is moldy — from 2010 — but is the latest the department provides. More broadly, 12,475 women residing in Tennessee destroyed their children before birth.

Pro-choicers and bureaucrats favor the mild usage “termination of pregnancy” to describe the taking of such undesirable lives. But the definition of abortion is described honestly in Tennessee law in defining it as a crime:

“‘Abortion’ means the administration to any woman pregnant with child, whether the child be quick or not, of any medicine, drug, or substance whatever, or the use or employment of any instrument, or other means whatever, with the intent to destroy the child, thereby destroying the child before the child’s birth *** “ (39-15-201)

The destruction of babies is an area of health from which state government seems to avert its gaze, a series of stories in the Nashville Tennessean, a newspaper, indicates. For example, no records are kept of the number of females under 18 who petition courts for permission to abort, their ages, whether their petitions were approved, and how many appealed. No data is gathered about the number of girls who come from out of state petitioning for abortion. The Department of Children’s Services has invaded with court orders the homes of innocent Christians over potty-training practices. But DCS has no record of how often court-appointed advocates (state employees) help girls through the legal process.

Gendercide and the disfavored girl

Misdirection characterizes another part of the abortion industry. Planned Parenthood, which runs the Knoxville Health Center, facilitates abortions among women who say they want to abort a girl, but not a boy, LifeNews.com said Tuesday.

The pro-life group Life Action has published a video of a clinic visit in Austin, Texas, in which a staffer encourages her potential client to have a late-term abortion because she purportedly wants a boy, not a daughter. The production launches a series, “Gendercide: Sex Selection in America,” that might worry feminist ideologues and supporters of abortion.

Destroying fetuses of the female sex (unborn girls) because of their sex, and favoring the birth of former fetuses of the male sex (boys) smacks of that old patriarchal and paternalistic bias that is such an evil in the West. Abortion allies want just as many boys destroyed as girls, to even out the public benefit.

Planned Parenthood puffed loudly in condemning gender bias in abortion: “Gender bias is contrary to everything our organization works for daily in communities across the country. Planned Parenthood opposes racism and sexism in all forms, and we work to advance equity and human rights in the delivery of health care,” according to its quixotic statement in the LIfeNews story.

Rebecca, the Austin Planned Parenthood staffer, encourages the patient to wait to find out the gender before aborting, even possibly getting a federal government welfare program, Medicaid, to pay for it.

Lila Rose, the president of the sneaky videographers at Live Action, condemned Planned Parenthood for its willingness to facilitate sex-selection abortions.

“The search-and-destroy targeting of baby girls through prenatal testing and abortion is a pandemic that is spreading across the globe,” she told LifeNews. “Research proves that sex-selective abortion has now come to America. The abortion industry, led by Planned Parenthood, is a willing participant.”

Any reason good enough

Planned Parenthood told the Huffington Post on Tuesday that staffer Rebecca was fired and that everyone in the branch got fresh training. The company insists it will destroy a baby for any reason except in four states that ban sex-selective abortions. The patient in the video would have had a later-term abortion. Here’s how the Tennessean, diverting its eyes when it should have stared long and hard, describes two types of late-term abortion in its May 19 series. One is when the baby is cut to pieces, the other when he is slain with the body flailing outside the woman’s privates, but the head forcibly crammed up the birth canal.

A dilation and evacuation abortion may begin with an injection to cause the demise of the fetus. It then requires tools to remove the fetus from the uterus, followed by a suctioning to ensure the contents are completely removed. An intact dilation and extraction requires partially delivering the fetus, then crushing or cutting its skull to complete the abortion.
