Several homeschool families gather in a field in Bakewell, Tenn., near Soddy-Daisy, to watch the eclipse Aug. 21, the “totality” of which cut a line on the map between Chattanooga and Soddy-Daisy. Two of the families are local, but one came as a lark from Maryland to see firsthand the mysterious intersection of planetary bodies. (Photo David Tulis)
My wife, Jeanette, and I publish a lovely newsletter for the Chattanooga area homeschool Association. We invite you to take a peak and find a family advantage in our loving toils.
The Esprit — spirit in French — embodies many of the ideals of local economy and free markets with much advice for moms. You are not a homeschooler, but you might gain valuable insights from these area moms who love their children and love learning.

Home educators make the most of the relationship among moms and dads and their children. Homeschoolers are leading the way in understanding children and the moral and godly purpose in education.
Homeschool moms are among the most sought-after educators in Chattanooga, hired by elite families to tutor their children and starting ventures such as Ingleside Academy, where Jeannette teaches a select group of children part-time while home educating the last Tulis child at home, a boy, 14.
Our Esprit newsletter is online today after having been solely a print publication. I am excited it has broken out into the digital world — for your benefit, I hope.
This is what Page 1 of the latest Esprit newsletter looks like— a new Chattanooga-area ezine.
