The Chattanooga Police Department’s position on enforcement of the Hamilton County mask mandate is detailed in this video. CPD wants compliance in our city, COVID-19 is spreading at an alarming rate. Our officers will work towards compliance through education and working to set the example.
“I do not believe enforcement is the necessary path” to bring people to wearing masks if they are closer than 6 feet., says Chattanooga police chief David Roddy. “So your Chattanooga police officers will not be issuing any citations relative to noncompliance on masks.” He and his officers will rely on persuasion, encouragement and conveying a sense of urgency about the purported need for all people in public to wear chin diapers. “I hope everyone does their part,” he says.
