This interview by former city council member and mayoral candidate Dave Crockett lays out the rationale for the secession of Chattanooga from Hamilton County. It would be a great benefit for city taxpayers, who would pay only Chattanooga taxes, and not double taxes. The proposal comes amid a flurry of activity in the general assembly to let areas of a city secede back into their respective counties. Mr. Crockett’s proposal is, he says, highly libertarian and very “Nooganomic.” (Courtesy Noogaradio 1240 AM 101.1 FM)
