TN city launches 24-hour surveillance of auto users

Murfreesboro launches Flock cameras to give city cops and others automatic data of all licensees. The LPR is “license plate reader,” tracking all registrations through the metal plate on the back bumper denoting that vehicle’s use on the roads. Registered autos are called “motor vehicles” because they are used under state privilege, which privilege is a statewide use or grant that cannot be interfered with by any municipality. Hamilton County also uses LPRs.
